Laboratory Equipment Services was founded by Nicolas Gerst, Ph.D., and Clayton McSheridan, combining decades of laboratory, quality control and instrument calibration experience.

With a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Strasbourg, Dr. Gerst brings more than 20 years of laboratory research experience, including responsibility for pipette calibration.

Prior to launching L.E.S., McSheridan was involved in quality control for medical and automotive devices. For 10 years, he gained valuable experience in the calibration and maintenance of lab instruments.

After working firsthand with the costs, delays and disruption of getting equipment calibrated, they established L.E.S. to provide a more practical alternative.​

They have built calibration kits along with a top-of-the-line analytical balance and highest class of calibrated weights. They are regularly calibrated (traceable to NIST) to deliver the best experience for our clients.

Today, L.E.S. delivers careful on-site and off-site calibration that helps Midwest laboratories maintain accurate, dependable results with minimal disruption.​​
